GOOD NEWS! OUR COVID-19 VACCINATIONS ARE UNDER WAY!
In line with Government guidance, we are pleased to confirm that COVID-19 vaccination appointments are now being offered at the Old Exchange Surgery Mass Vaccination Site, East Street, St Ives to patients aged 70 and over, and those who are clinically vulnerable who are registered with the following practices; Grove Medical Practice, The Spinney Surgery, Riverport Medical Practice and Moat House Surgery.
Patients will be invited to attend a clinic. There is no parking at the vaccination site but we have arranged free parking at the following location for any patients attending their vaccination appointments on the day of the clinics:
- Globe Place Car Park – PE27 5PP
- There is no need to purchase a ticket, just leave a note in your windscreen to say that you are visiting the COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic
Clinics are now running on a regular basis and appointments are released as soon as we are notified of our next vaccine delivery. If you are aged 70 or over, or clinically vulnerable and do not already have an appointment please don’t worry, you will not be missed and we will be contacting you as soon as we can to arrange your appointment with you. We have a special team who will be telephoning patients directly to book these appointments with you so you do not need to contact us directly.
When you attend your vaccination appointment please wear a face mask and continue to follow the social distancing guidance. These steps help to save lives
We will continue to roll out the vaccination programme as quickly as we can.
What to expect when you arrive for your vaccination appointment
When you are invited to your vaccination appointment there are a few things we need you to do to help ensure everything runs smoothly.
- Please arrive close to your appointment time - there is no need to arrive early as appointments are carefully spaced
- Please use the car park available (see above). Very limited drop off and collection will be available for those who really need it
- Please wrap up warm but wear clothing that you can easily remove your upper arm for your vaccination
- Please wear a face mask and maintain social distance
- Please follow the marshalls who will be on hand to direct and support you
- Please do not attend if you are self-isolating because you have been contacted by Track & Trace or if you have any signs or symptoms of COVID-19
- After your vaccination, we will need you to remain on site for 15 minutes (Pfizer vaccination only).

Message from Moat House Surgery
DUE TO THE CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC
2020 FLU CAMPAIGN IS GOING TO BE DIFFERENT
We are still in the process of sending flu appointment letters out, so please don’t worry if you haven’t received one yet.
Due to the number of vaccinations performed during these clinics we ask that you read below and follow the recommendations.
Please check your appointment letter for the location of your appointment as we will be doing some of them at the Resource Centre, Warboys.
Please ensure that:
- Due to social distancing guidelines, you arrive at the time stated on your letter. If you cannot make the assigned time, please contact the surgery now so we can make you another appointment.
- You attend your appointment with the top of your arm easily accessible up to your shoulder.
- We have 2 different vaccinations to give depending on your age. If a family member falls into a different age category it may not have been possible to invite you to the same clinic.
- If a member of your household has a blood or clinic appointment before the end of November they will have their vaccination during this appointment and may not receive a letter.
- Please let us know if you do not want to receive the flu vaccination this year by calling the surgery.
- IF YOU ARE UNWELL ON THE DAY OF YOUR APPOINTMENT - DO NOT ATTEND. Call 01487 822230 when you are better to organise another appointment.

DOCTOR LINK

Moat House Surgery would like to invite you to join DoctorLink.
We have been looking at how we can improve access to Practice services; DoctorLink is our new online service where you can access advice and appointments on line.
Registration is simple and you can register here:
https://app.doctorlink.com/moathousesurgery/register
For all urgent appointments, we ask that you undertake a symptom assessment through DoctorLink.
The symptom checker will ask you a number of questions to help to identify your problem.
The outcome of your assessment will direct you to the right treatment, whether emergency care, your GP, nurse or self care.
If your outcome indicates that an appointment is required, you simply click on the request appointment link.
Once the request has been submitted, you will then be contacted by the Practice Team, to arrange an appointment within the identified timeframe (as outlined in the outcome of your symptom checker).
The information you provide will be shared with our clinical team (where appropriate) and will assist in providing robust information of your problem to the required clinical team member prior to your appointment.
You can even download the App via Google Play and Apple store

Welcome to The Moat House Surgery
The Moat House Surgery is committed to providing a high standard of medical care in a friendly caring atmosphere. We work closely together as a team, and this site is designed to help you get the best out of the services that we offer.
Coming to the surgery for the first time
If you arrive by car or on foot please enter the building by the main entrance. You will find two patient toilets immediately to your right (we also have a disabled access toilet near the consulting rooms).
The reception desk is accessed via a door into a privacy area, we would ask patients to check that a patient isn’t already at the desk before entering this area. The receptionist will ask you to wait in the foyer if they already have someone at the desk to maintain confidentiality/privacy.
Self Booking in machine
You do not have to go the reception desk to acknowledge that you have arrived for an appointment. We do have a self booking in machine which is very easy to use. The machine requires you to touch the screen to confirm your day and month of birth and gender.
It will not be able to find your appointment if you are over 20 minutes late and you will need to speak to a receptionist on that occasion.
If you do not say you are here the doctor will not call your name and you will miss your appointment.
PLEASE NOTE THAT WHEN BOOKING APPOINTMENTS ONLINE, ONLY THE AVAILABLE APPOINTMENTS WILL SHOW. IF A SPECIFIC DOCTOR IS NOT LISTED THEY HAVE NO AVAILABLE APPOINTMENTS AT THE MOMENT AND YOU WILL NEED TO LOOK AGAIN TOMORROW OR CONTACT THE SURGERY DIRECTLY.
